New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Michael Noriega and four presiding judges will offer unique perspectives on civil trials and the practice of law at the Meadowlands Seminar 2023.
The judges will speak at two back-to-back programs starting at 8:30 am on Friday, November 17.
The presiding judges will be on a panel at the Judicial Perspectives: How to Schedule and Conduct Civil Trials After Covid.
“This program is a unique opportunity to hear from some of the most respected judges in our state and hear from them how lawyers should be handling court proceedings both virtual and in-person,” said Gerald H. Baker, Esq., who will moderate the program along with NJAJ President Patrricia M. Giordano, Esq. and NJAJ Educational Foundation Chair Adam B. Lederman, Esq.
The judges on the panel are:
- Hon. Darren J. Del Sardo, P.J., Civil, Passaic County;
- Hon. Thomas M. Moore, P.J., Civil, Essex County;
- Hon. John D. O’Dwyer, P.J., Civil in Bergen County; and
- Hon. Joseph A. Turula, P.J., Civil in Hudson County;
“The program also gives the judges the opportunity to hear from each other and hopefully work to create more uniformity in how proceedings are handled in the various counties,” said Baker, who is co-chairing with Patricia M. Giordano, the chair of the NJAJ Educational Foundation, and NJAJ President James S. Lynch.
The hour-long Judicial Perspectives program will be followed immediately by a presentation by Justice Noriega on The Lincoln Lawyer: The Plight of the Private Practitioner from 9:30 am to 10:00 am.
The two programs are the only ones at this time and are open to all registrants.
The Meadowlands Seminar 2023 offers 20 programs on a wide variety of legal topics and takes place takes place Wednesday – Friday, November 15-17 at the Hilton Meadowlands Hotel.
