The NJAJ PAC is the political action committee for the New Jersey Association for Justice.

Founded in 1987, the NJAJ PAC is a non-partisan political action committee that provides financial contributions to candidates for the New Jersey Legislature from both parties who support the issues that our organization stands for and who share our commitment to a strong and vibrant civil justice system.

The funds that are contributed to candidates come solely from NJAJ members who make a monthly contribution to the NJAJ PAC.

A strong and well-funded NJAJ PAC helps NJAJ maintain a loud and vibrant voice in the legislative process and to help us educate legislators on a wide range of issues such as auto insurance reforms, medical negligence, consumer rights, workers compensation and family law that affect the clients we represent and our members.

PAC contributors make monthly contributions to the fund at levels ranging from $25.00 a month to $750.00 a month.

     Monthly NJAJ PAC contributions from NJAJ members at any level are welcomed and very much needed.

The NJAJ PAC is overseen by a board of trustees selected by the NJAJ Board of Governors. The trustees select their officers and approve all contributions to candidates.

The current NJAJ PAC officers are:

  • Jeffrey S. Monaghan, Esq., Chair;
  • Ellen Relkin, Esq., Vice Chair; and
  • Kathleen M. Reilly, Esq., Secretary-Treasurer.

The other trustees are:

  • Richard J. Albuquerque, Esq.;
  • K. Raja Bhattacharya, Esq.;
  • Edward P. Capozzi, Esq.;
  • Deborah S. Dunn, Esq.;
  • Lynne M. Kizis, Esq.; and
  • Jonathan H., Lomurro, Esq.

Each year powerful and well-funded interest groups and the insurance industry lobby for legislation that weakens the rights of our clients, that push for caps on jury verdicts and that grant immunity to certain entities for their negligent conduct.

The NJAJ PAC allows our organization to respond to these challenges and to explain to members of the Legislature why a strong civil justice system is so important to the clients we represent and the constituents they serve.

This November all 80 Assembly seats and all 40 Senate seats are up for election. We need NJAJ members to contribute to the PAC now more than ever to help provide for the election and reelection of Assembly and Senate candidates who understand and support a strong and vibrant civil justice system.

If you or your firm are not currently NJAJ PAC contributors, please join the effort to fight the good fight for justice for all.
