The recipients of NJAJ’s 2022 awards have been selected.

The awards will be presented during the annual NJAJ Awards Dinner on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, NJ following the Winter Seminar that day.

• The Gold Medal for Distinguished Journalism will go to NJ.com for their online The Force Report on police brutality.
• The Gerald B. O’Connor Award will be presented to:
  • Frank D. Allen, Esq.;
  • Abbott S. Brown, Esq.;
  • Michael J. Maggiano, Esq.; and
  • Nancy Erika Smith, Esq.
• The NJAJ Meyer-Segal Award will be presented to Lynne M. Kizis, Esq.
• The late Kenneth G. Andres, Jr., Esq. will be honored as NJAJ’s recipient of the Professional Lawyer of the Year Award, which is presented by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law.
• NJAJ’s Amicus Advocates will be honored at the event.

In addition, Gerald H. Baker, Esq. also will be recognized as a recipient of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Lighthouse Award, which honors an attorney or judge whose professional community-based efforts serve as an inspiration to colleagues. Baker was nominated by NJAJ.
