The late Kenneth G. Andres, Jr. Esq., has been selected as the 2021 NJAJ recipient of the Professional Lawyer of the Year Award.

Ken was an outstanding lawyer, leader, friend and person. We mourn his passing, but we honor his memory and achievement by selecting him as NJAJ’s recipient of this prestigious award posthumously.

The award is presented annually by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law to lawyers who are noted for outstanding character, have a commitment to the highest ideals of the profession and have both bar and community involvement. The recipients are chosen by county and specialty bar associations throughout New Jersey.

Ken is extremely deserving of this honor. Throughout his career he was a shining example of professionalism through his dedication to his clients, his stellar and innovative advocacy for their rights and his devotion to our profession. He was admired by his colleagues as well as his adversaries, which makes him a true professional.

Ken was a past president of NJAJ and served on the Board of Governors for many years and was a longtime co-chair of the Boardwalk Seminar. He founded and led the annual Top Ten in New Jersey program at the Boardwalk Seminar for more than 20 years.

This award is a fitting tribute to his legacy.
