New Jersey's 2026 Primary Election Day is today, Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Polling locations across the state will are open today from 6:00 am – 8:00 pm. 

Voters who are in line by 8:00 pm have the right to vote, and polling places will remain open until the last voter in line by 8:00 pm has casted a ballot.

You can find your New Jersey polling location here, and secure ballot drop box locations here. All ballots placed in a secure drop box must be deposited by 8:00 p.m. on June 2, 2026.

Who Can Vote in New Jersey's 2026 Primary:

New Jersey conducts a closed primary, which means only registered members of a political party may vote in that party's primary.

Unaffiliated voters may participate only if they declare a party affiliation at the polling place before voting.

Registered Republicans and Democrats cannot switch parties on Primary Election Day.

What's Being Decided During New Jersey's 2026 Primary Election:

New Jersey’s 2026 Primary Election will determine each party’s nominees for all 12 U.S. House districts and for one of the state’s two U.S. Senate seats.
