The Stakes Have Never Been Higher – Join NJAJ PAC on September 30 to Support Mikie Sherrill, Senate President Nick Scutari, and NJAJ PAC

On November 4, 2025, just six short weeks from now, there is an extraordinarily important election here in New Jersey. The citizens of New Jersey will choose a new Governor for the first time in eight years, and all 80 members of the New Jersey Assembly are up for election.

I don’t have to tell you how intricately linked our practices are with the laws that are passed in Trenton – you live it every day. And NJAJ fights for your clients and your practices in the halls of Trenton. NJAJ fought for decades for a bad faith law, and now that the Insurance Fair Conduct Act is now law, you have the ability to hold insurance companies accountable when they unreasonably deny or delay a UM/UIM insurance claim on behalf of your client. Because of legislation that NJAJ supported, defense must disclose policy limits instead of forcing you to file a lawsuit.

However, none of these bills ever become law without legislators that will pass them and a governor who will sign them into law.

As we get closer to the election there are forces at work that desperately want to roll back the hard-fought legislative victories we’ve won.

Uber, a multi-billion dollar global corporation, spent $3.5 million in the 2025 primary advocating for lower insurance costs for ride share companies. They have used this tactic in other states and have been successful. And they don’t stop at lower insurance costs; they are after large scale tort reform. And as heavily as they spent in the primary, we expect them to spend more in the general election this fall.

That’s why the New Jersey Association for Justice Political Action Committee (NJAJ PAC) exists. For nearly 40 years, NJAJ PAC has stood up for civil justice and supported candidates who fight for consumers, accident victims, and injured workers - not corporate profits.
