Fall is flying by and this year’s Meadowlands Seminar is already next month.

Regardless of your level of experience, I think it is crucial for trial lawyers to continually pursue CLE. The legal landscape is always evolving, with new case law, regulations, and best practices emerging regularly. Staying updated through CLE ensures that attorneys can provide their clients with the best possible representation, adhere to the highest ethical standards, and remain competitive. CLE also fosters personal growth and professional development, making it an essential part of our careers.
See the article included in this month’s In Brief for more information on this year’s Meadowlands Seminar, keep checking the NJAJ website for the latest details, and make sure you register to attend. Do not forget to make your hotel reservation.
Separately, NJAJ’s Amicus Counsel, Michael Donahue, Esq., appeared before the New Jersey Supreme Court urging the court to reconsider the Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics’ (ACPE) Opinion 745 banning the payment of referral fees by court-certified attorneys to out-of-state attorneys.
Other entities challenging ACPE’s Opinion 745, were the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, the American Board of Trial Advocates, Blume, Forte, Fried, Zerres & Molinari, and Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Middlesex county bar associations. Past President Eric Kahn appeared on behalf of ABOTA.
Looking ahead to next year, the NJAJ Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, NJ. Congratulations to the 2025 award recipients! See the article for a full list of recipients.
