AAJ needs Judges for the Student Trial Advocacy Competition, and you can help.
There are teams nationwide, and preliminary rounds are set for March 7-10 by Zoom. The need is GREAT, the commitment is limited, but with all that said, the experience is priceless.
This is a substantial undertaking, and while the students obviously benefit, so do the Judges.
Judges must be a lawyer, and AAJ membership is not required. Lawyers who are diverse in practice, age, and ethnicity are enthusiastically welcomed. Most trials take about 3.5 hours. Please volunteer for at least one trial.
You will get the fact pattern in advance, and sit as a Juror (unless you’re the Presiding Judge). You will score student performance within provided ranges - and you do it remotely!
